Sacrifice

In their mortal coil,

They buried their wish on earthly soil,

With their lives as the ultimate price,

Paid through their blood and sacrifice.

Heaven called them so soon,

Before dawn could translate to noon,

Leaving behind their beloved prize,

In a rough world, to grow and survive.

Yet they smiled, sharing the warmth of the sun,

Caressed the long night under the calming moon,

They cried through the sky, nourishing their soil,

Giving birth to love reaped from their toil.

Maybe they did reap what they sowed,

Possibly, they did see their efforts grow,

Prize was never important over the price,

Paid through their blood and sacrifice.
