I can’t coin just a star in your name
To star-cast with your motherly fame
For me, still, you are the whole universe
Not just this, you still exist in all multiverses
And if I could get a time machine
I would throttle its cosmic engine
To travel on a jet of blinding light
To catch a glimpse of your ethereal sight
To visit you in our forever home
To hug you tight and not feel alone
Yet such are the fantasies of a child
Marvellous theories that seem wild
To cope with the everlasting grief
For magical memories, short and brief
The truth is deeply embedded in reality
I need to accept your earthly mortality
While I live a life of this hard duality
Hoping that I get to achieve singularity
I apologise to the world if I am selfish
To claim the entire galaxy is fiendish
In her name, I can’t just take one star
The near ones, or the ones far away.
Surely, I am not the only one to think this way
All her children will have the same thing to say
A star, a galaxy or a universe, all blend
In the name and virtue of our Mother!
Dedicated to my sweetest, dearest, loveliest Mommy, on Mother’s day! This dedication is to all the lovely mothers in the world and to our mother Nature, you are everything and greater than a star!
